School started with the same stuff as last year. I can’t read and anything I do is wrong, but at least I could walk home with Jem. From one day, I believe it was a Tuesday; we started to find things in the knothole beside the Radley’s House. We found an old pocketwatch, two dolls that looks like me and Jem, a gum, and a gold medal. I sat in Jem’s room and looked at the things just after supper today. I wondered who left in the knothole. Jem broke the silence and told me what happened when he went back to get his pants. He said his pants laid on the ground just like if it was waiting for him. The scratches were fixed poorly, but he was sure that the pants were badly ripped. I felt scared.
